DLSAANC Celebrates Centennial Holidays

by Irvin Sevilla

The De La Salle Alumni Association of Northern California recently celebrated its annual Christmas party on December 3, 2011, at the Embassy Suites in Burlingame, California. Current President Irvin Sevilla LSGH GS'81 HS'85, welcomed a group of about 75 Lasallians, including honored guest Ambassador Romeo and Dra. Ennie Arguellas. Irvin took the opportunity to provide updates on the DLSAANC's various projects and chosen charities, both local and overseas. They are: Books for the Barrios, Bahay Pag Asa, Br. Ravisa-Night School, Br. Rafael Donato scholarship, Saint Benilde for the Deaf, James Hilario Integrated School, and the De La Salle Scholarship Endowment Fund.

The event included a silent auction and raffle, with featured a grand prize of a round trip ticket to the Philippines, courtesy of Manolo Relova DLS GS'59 HS'64 BSC'68, and hotel accommodations at Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico, courtesy of Dino Africa La Salle Lipa HS‘68 DLS’73. Jojo Flores, former Kundirana member and LSGH GS'81 HS'85, also performed a two-song solo act that highlighted the evening.

Most of the night of course was spent dancing to the music provided by The Synthesis Band. The Lasallians proved to be merry revelers and took to the dance floor with their partners all night. Photo coverage was done by Don Ryan San Mateo DLSU'93.

It was truly a memorable event that has a been a yearly tradition in the Northern California chapter!
