Panlasigue Wins Again;Gardner Runs Away With Classics Division

April 17, 2010 -- The DLS Greens Club had its annual tournament at Poppy Ridge Golf Club located in the rolling hills of Livermore today amid spectacular spring conditions. The 23 golfers who participated in the year's second tournament played not only in temperate sunny weather but also in rare windless condition in the tree-less course that usually only has the howling afternoon winds as its primary defense. They teed off the relatively short 6,224 yard yet challenging 130 slope-rated white tees.

Bobby Panlasigue moved up to the Masters division in this tournament but still emerged as 2-stroke winner over Jim Gochoco. Bobby had 4 gross pars on the front nine and two on the back for his net 3-under par 69 round. Jim placed second and had the distinction of sharing the day's lowest gross score of 82 with Ron Riego de Dios. The day's lowest gross scores had different routes to their scores with Jim scoring a steady 41-41 round and Ron rallying in the back nine, 44-38. Last month's winner, Monching Dumancas, placed third this time around with a net 73.

Ageless Bill Gardner scored an amazing net 12-under par 60 to ran away with the Classics division top honors. A distant second was Jun Magbitang, who scored net 67. Clement Yu rounded up the Classics winners circle with a net 73.
