Flores, Litton Are First Time Winners @ Poppy Hills

May 16, 2010 -- For a change, this month's tournament at the famed Pebble Beach NCGA-managed Poppy Hills Golf Course featured two first-time winners in Jojo Flores for the Masters Division and Andy Litton for the Classics Division.

Nine golfers competed in the Masters Division and just about everyone finished within striking distance of each other. In the end, Jojo Flores edged Mike Manalo with a net 1-over par 73 for a hard-earned 1-stroke victory. The year's winningest golfer so far, Bobby Panlasigue, finished third this time around with a net 75.

Nine golfers also competed in the Classics Division. Andy Litton made the most of his rare appearances in the DLS Greens Tour by also scoring a net 1-over par 73. Unlike in the Masters Division, however, Andy  was a clear cut winner over 2nd placer Rico Medina, who scored a net 76. Further back at third place was Clement Yu with a net 80.

Bragging rights for the day's lowest gross score went to Ante Buljan, who posted a 6-over par 78. There were five closest-to-the-pin winners: Tom Consunji at #2, Manny Noguera at  #6, Julius Rivera at #11, Andy Litton at # 15 and Dino Africa at #17.
