Election of the General Councilors

Following the election of Br. Robert Schieler as Superior General and Brother Jorge Gallardo as Vicar General, the Delegates to the 45th Chapter proceeded to the election of the General Councilors for the five Regions in which the Institute is divided.

lagudaPARC Region (Asia)
Br. Angel Ricardo Laguda
He was born in 1969 (Bacolod City – Philippines). He completed his formation in Manila and Lipa City and made his final vows in 1999. He has a B.A. in Philosophy, a Master of Arts in Education, a degree in Philosophy, Religious Education and a Ph.D. in Education. At present he is President of the De La Salle University in Manila.

 

ouattaraRELAF Region (Africa)
Br. Pierre Saïdou Ouattara,
He was born in 1957 (Toussina – Burkina Fasso). He completed his formation in Tussiana and Sakabi and made his final vows in 1988. He has a Ph.D. in Philosophy. At present he is a member of the CIL Staff (International Lasallian Center – Rome)

 

petryRELAL Region (Latin America)
Br. Paulo Petry
He was born in 1958 (Arroio do Meio – Brazil). He made his formation in Curitiba and his final vows in 1988. He has a B.A. in Theology and Education. He has an M.A. in Social Communication, M.A. in Philosophy and a Ph.D. in Science.

 

kiltyRELEM Region (Europe and Middle East)
Br. Aidan Illtyd Kilty
He was born in 1948 (Dublin – Ireland). He completed his formation in Kintbury and made his final vows in Hopwood Hall in 1974. Studies: B.A in Education, History and English; M.A. in Religious Studies.
At present he is the Visitor of the District of Great Britain and Malta.

RELAN Region: (U.S. and Canada)
Br. Timothy Coldwell
He was born in 1956 in Denver (Colorado), United States of America.
He made his initial formation in Mesilla Park, New Mexico and his final vows in 1986. He has a B.A. in Social Science and a M. A. in Religious Education. At present he is the Visitor of the District of New Orleans – Santa Fe.
According to the provisions of the Rule of our Institute (120c – 2nd) the Superior General has the possibility to increase the number of Council members. This decision will be communicated in due course.

The Institute congratulates the Brothers who now form the new Council and deeply appreciates the work done during the past seven years by the former Central Government, who will now have a new mission assignment: Brother Álvaro Rodríguez Echeverría, Br. Thomas Johnson, Br. Alberto Gómez, Br. Claude Reinhardt, Br. David H. Hawke, Br. Edgar Nicodem, Br. Gabriel Somé and Br. Jacques D’Huiteau.
