March 16, 2013 — The 2013 DLS Greens Tour kicked-off with an enthusiastic field of 23 Lasallians and their friends at Livermore’s Las Positas Golf Course amid spring-like weather conditions.The golfers teed off the 6,331 yard/123 slope rated white tees of the Robert Muir Graves-designed golf course.
This was the first time the DLS Greens Golf Club held a tournament at Las Positas and the participants enjoyed the new challenge despite the fact some golfers paid for the unfamiliarity with the course with penalty srokes following some blind drives/shots. In fact, those who had played the course many moons ago were surprised that the course was reconfigured — as did likewise for those who downloaded the old configuration on their golf GPS devises.
Clem Yu and Robbie Reyes had enough course smarts to post identical scores of net 3-under par 69 to win the A and B divisions, respectively. Runners-up a stroke back were Ron Riego de Dios for the A division andGilbert Talavera for the B division. Closest to the pin honors went to Froi Lomotan at the 8th hole and Nutsie Maloles at the 11th hole.
Next tournament: Saturday April 13 Monarch Bay Golf Club @ San Leandro 11a start $62 green fee.
