The final memorial service for our former association president Jose “Joey” de Ocampo GS’58 HS’62 will be held on Wednesday Jan. 16 2pm at the Lakeside Presbyterian Church located at 201 Eucalyptus Drive in San Francisco (near Stonestown Mall) where he had been an active elder for many years.
Joey passed on last Wednesday Jan. 9 while awaiting surgery. Joey was a warrior until the end in battling his decades-long illness. He is survived by his two sons Miguel and JV, mother, brother Bobby (former Philippine Finance Secretary during the Fidel Ramos administration and current chairman of Philippine Veterans Bank) and a grandson.
About twenty alumni led by current and past association presidents Jerry Gutierrez, Mandy Reyes, Tom Consunji and Manny Noguera as well as best friend Tom Umali paid their respects at the pre-cremation viewing of Joey at Duggan’s Serra Mortuary in Daly City. Joey will be cremated tomorrow (Monday).
Rest in peace, Joey!
